The American Council Of Frame and Alignment Specialists will hold its Fall Technician Training Clinic on Sept. 14 and 15 in Akron, Ohio.
The attendees will be staying at the Country Inn & Suites in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

The topics to be covered at this clinic are:

* Bob Crepas of Dana Corporation will address the allowable tolerances for king-pins and when king-pins and bushings need to be replaced. He'll also discuss proper maintenance for steer axles.

* Another session will cover 2010 diesel fuel systems. What do technicians need to be aware of when performing routine preventative maintenance? Can you cause major damage to the engine?

* Instructors provided by Mack Truck will cover 2010 diesel exhaust systems. What maintenance do you need to be aware of? When you are performing service to vehicles with these systems what can you do to avoid damaging the system?

* One session will center around hybrid vehicles and how to safely service these vehicles. Can you perform regular preventative maintenance without electrocuting someone? Can you replace a broken leaf spring? Can you align the front-end? Eaton Corporation will give a presentation on the safe handling of the electric hybrid technology.

* Are you properly tightening the fasteners on the vehicles you perform maintenance on? Are the u-bolts tightened to the proper torque setting or are they close enough? A representative from Rad Torque, manufacturers of electric, pneumatic and hydraulic torque wrenches and torque multipliers will be demonstrating the different types of devices and how close enough is not close enough.
