Under the terms of the agreement, Amerit will provide maintenance and repair programs to support Nikola customers whose operations are outside Nikola’s dealer network. The program will begin with providing services and support for a pilot for a Class 8 Nikola Tre battery-electric vehicle unit in the Sacramento area through Amerit’s Electric Vehicle Fleet Service Center.
Using its new EV Ready Technician Training Program, Amerit’s Sacramento technicians have undergone extensive training and are NFPA70E and Nikola certified to perform necessary maintenance and repairs, according to the company. These services are expected to assist in the adoption of the Nikola Tre BEV Class 8 trucks.
“Nikola is a leader in zero-emission Class 8 BEVs, and we’re looking forward to supporting their customers by offering service programs across the U.S.,” said Amerit’s CCO Bob Brauer in the statement. “With over 1,500 trained and certified technicians across the country, and our customized approach to service programs, Amerit is ideally suited to rapidly scale services to Nikola customers.”
