The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company is now offering premium intermodal trailer service between Los Angeles and San Bernardino, Calif., and Atlanta through a haulage agreement with CSX Intermodal.
The service departs Wednesday through Sunday in both directions and improves transit times by about half a day.
"BNSF is giving its customers improved speed and reliability into two large parcel and less-than-truckload transcontinental markets: Southern California and the Southeast via Atlanta," said John Lucas, assistant vice president, Intermodal Direct Marketing. "In addition, we are able to provide our customers with an intermodal alternative to more expensive, over-the-road team-truck driver transportation."
With this announcement, BNSF offers seamless service between Southern California and the Northeast; Southern California and the Southeast; and Southern California and Eastern Canada.
