Diesel prices rose for the third week in a row, up 4.3 cents to a national average of $2.274, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Diesel has risen 8.9 cents per gallon over the last three weeks.

The highest average prices were reported in the Central Atlantic region at $2.410, followed closely by new England at $2.409. The best deals were in the Midwest and Gulf Coast, with reported averages of $2.229 and $2.242, respectively.

Meanwhile, gasoline jumped 12.6 cents, to $2.435 a gallon.

Oil prices continue to rise, settling at $62.45 on the New York Mercantile Exchange Tuesday, after The Conference Board reported that consumer confidence in May rose to the highest level since last September amid tentative signs that the economy was improving.
