Bridgestone Americas introduced the Firestone FS592, a new steer tire for long-haul and regional applications.
New Firestone Steer Tire Offers Longer Life, Durability
Firestone’s latest steer tire, the FS592, has a redesigned tread pattern and longer removal mileage, replacing the long-running FS591 with a more durable, next-generation option.

Firestone’s new FS592 steer tire delivers a redesigned tread pattern, improved casing durability, and an estimated 17% increase in removal miles compared to the FS591 it replaces.

The tire features an added 32nd of tread depth and a wider footprint designed to extend removal mileage compared to the FS591, which it replaces. It is SmartWay-certified and incorporates the company’s next-generation Enliten technology.
“The FS592 builds on the durability and performance fleets expect from the Firestone line,” said Steve Hoeft, president of Bridgestone’s Commercial Truck Group. “We improved key attributes while retaining the tread reliability of the previous model.”
Key Features and Updates
The FS592 is available in four sizes and is engineered to deliver longer service life and improved casing value. New design elements include:
Higher Removal Mileage: Bridgestone says the tire delivers 17% longer life, averaging 18,000 more miles than the FS591.
Reinforced Casing: The Enliten-based casing is intended to improve durability, retreadability, and rolling resistance.
Updated Tread Pattern: Defense grooves and an optimized shoulder rib help manage wear and resist tearing. A five-rib pattern is designed to promote even wear across multiple applications.
The FS592 is now the primary steer tire in the Firestone lineup for long-haul and regional fleets.
