According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Interstate 78 westbound in Lebanon County will be closed in the area of the Interstate 81 interchange during the early morning from Tuesday, April 19
, 2005 through Saturday, April 23, 2005, and Tuesday, April 26, 2005 through Saturday, April 30, 2005. Each closure will begin at 12:01 AM and remain in effect until 5:00 AM. The closures will allow workers to set the curved steel girders on the new Interstate 81 northbound bridge over Interstate 78 westbound and the ramp from Interstate 81 southbound to Interstate 78 eastbound.
Traffic will be detoured at Exit 8 of Interstate 78 to Route 22 westbound, to Route 934 northbound, to Exit 85 of Interstate 81. The detour route will be identified using message boards.
