The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is warning of lengthy backups on I-80 in the vicinity of Exits 210 & 212 (Route 15 & I-180).
Lengthy back-ups are inevitable at certain days and times (weekly), as well as around the times of certain events (students returning to college, Penn State football home game weekends, Little League World Series, etc.) while the roadway improvements continue through October, the Department says.
Invariably, through this 5-mile work zone, westbound traffic experiences significant back-ups on Fridays starting around noon and continuing well into the evening hours. Eastbound experiences similar tie-ups on Sundays starting around 3 p.m. and continuing well into the evening hours.
The delays could be as long as two hours; the DOT suggests planning alternate routes.
