If you’re heading to Oregon, be prepared for yet another storm this weekend to move into the state, which has been battered all week by rain, snow and heavy winds.

Another storm is forecast to move in today, with unsettled weather through the weekend, according to The Weather Channel. A series of storms have moved through the area this week, bringing as much as 5 inches of rain to some coastal locations, wearing away at already fragile coastal roads.
Near Pendleton, high winds whipped up debris, and around La Grande, drivers on Interstate 84 faced blizzard-like conditions, according to The Oregonian. Tuesday, jackknifed tractor-trailers blocked sections of the interstate for as long as three hours at a time on the steep Ladd Canyon segment southeast of La Grande and on the 50-mile segment through the Blue Mountains between La Grande and Pendleton.
Rainfall so far this season has been more than 50% above normal in Seattle and 35% higher in Portland. The wet weather has officials worried about mudslides and the possibility of flooding. The swollen Nehalem River cut away a steep slope beneath Oregon 47, four miles north of Vernonia, earlier this week. It cracked pavement in the southbound lane. Fearing that part of the road would fall into the river, state Transportation Department crews restricted traffic to one lane. Crews are working on sinkholes and landslides in other parts of the state.
