The 10th annual TMCSuperTech National Technician Skills Competition is set to take place later this month at the Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The competition is put on by the American Trucking Association’s Technology and Maintenance Council and will take place from Sept. 22-24 in conjuction with TMC’s annual fall meeting.
“This competition highlights the training, skills, and knowledge required to do an increasingly complex job,” said Bill Graves, president and CEO of ATA. “Our industry needs more highly skilled technicians and TMCSuperTech is an excellent way to underscore their important place in the trucking industry.”
Contestants must complete a series of written and hands-on tests before moving on to the skills challenge. The skills challenge features 14 stations testing skills ranging from general truck maintenance and electronic diagnostics to safety and environmental practices.
Winners of the competition are recognized in various categories before a single competitor is ultimately named the TMCSuperTech Grand Champion.
