Mid-America 2018 wrapped up on Saturday under grey rainy skies -- usually a good omen for trade shows. Outside exhibitors weren't happy, but the mood inside was good.
Attendance seemed good for the first day of the Mid-America Trucking Show 2018, which got underway at 10 a.m. March 22. Absent this year were several of the truck and trailer makers and a few of the major Tier 1 suppliers, but showgoers didn't seem to mind too much, at least not that we heard.
Volvo Trucks' new VNX series was designed specifically for the needs of heavy-haul trucking operations. Available with up to 605 hp and 2,050 lb.-ft. of torque, the Volvo VNX series is available in daycab, flat-roof regional sleeper, and 70-inch sleeper configurations.
The NTEA Work Truck Show rolled into Indianapolis for a four-day stay (March 6-9), and HDT Executive Editor David Cullen was there to capture these new-truck highlights on the show floor.
