The 9th Rush Truck Centers Tech Skills Rodeo in San Antonio, Texas pitted the company's top heavy and medium duty technicians against each other in trouble shooting challenges and written tests. The trucking industry is often charitable and companies like Kenworth, Tri State Truck Center and River State Truck and Trailer are doing their part to give back this holiday season.

There was a wide variety of trucks at this year's Green Fleet Conference. Everything from heavy duty to cargo vans were available for people to see, touch and sometimes drive. Check out the CNG Trucks, Electric Vans and Hybrids that were on display at the show.

The IAA Commercial Vehicles show is one of the world’s most important trade fairs for trucks, transport and logistics. The number of exhibitors increased by 9%, to 2,066 this year and there was a global reprsentation of exhibitors originating from 45 different countries. The IAA Commercial Vehicles event in Germany is running from Sept. 25 - Oct. 2 and trucks and technologies from all over the world are on display at the fairgrounds in Hanover. Our Equipment Editor Jim Park was in Germany, covering the event.

Daimler Trucks rolled back the curtain a little further on the autonomous commercial vehicle it revealed for the first time in July. The truck, and the self-driving concept, is being developed as part of Daimler Trucks' "Shaping Future Transportation" initiative to conserve resources, reduce emissions and to ensure traffic safety through vehicle-to-infrastructure and vehicle-to-vehicle communications.

More than 400 of the nation's best truck drivers competed in the 77th annual National Truck Driving Championships in Pittsburgh in August 2014. Jeffrey Langenhahn, a Con-way Freight truck driver based in Plover, Wis., was named grand champion. Read more about the winners here.
